On the outside, people couldn't see how much she wanted to make herself bleed across her carpet. They couldn't see the stains of her tears on her sleeves or the mascara streaks down her cheeks when she was alone. Someone was shaking Zaen's shoulder. He stirred.
"Wake up, kid. Seriously. I come home and I find you layin' on the floor like a murder victim."
"It's lying, not laying. The verb lay requires a direct object, whereas the verb lie does not..." Zaen mumbled, rubbing his eyes and squinting. Why had Dark turned on such bright lights?
"Lay, lie, whatever." Dark tugged at Zaen's hands. "Get up. It's way past your bedtime."
Zaen moaned, rolled over, and covered his eyes. The room was far too bright. Why was he on the floor again? Oh, right, he had been reading.
"Fine, lazy kid." Dark knelt and put his arms around Zaen. He was giving him a hug? Zaen didn't think Dark liked to give people hugs. Wait... his feet had just left the ground... Oh, Dark had picked him up.

A Simple Look

Pain, pain, pain. The world was a searing, burning, horrible face full of nothing but sheer crippling pain. He writhed, his powerful form arching off the floor, blind to the world, deaf to his own screams. Why hadn’t everything gone black? A sudden blast of windI sat in the long shadow of a broken down castle wall, seeking refuge from the burning heat of summer. However, even though I couldn’t feel the Sun on my skin, the air was even warmer there, thicker and heavier. It made me feel as if I was drowning as I took my breaths. So, I got up, shaking off the broken branches and leaves that got stuck into my hair and clothes, and stepped out into the world of the supposedly blazing Sun on the other side.

The wind was strong, and cold, a reminiscence of winter within the heat of summer. It felt good on my skin as I laughed, much better than the still air of the shadow which was supposed to protec

Believing in NothingWhat exactly is "love" in our say?
I don't think I understand. 
How can someone love someone without pain?
How can someone love someone without sorrow?
To be an unknowing angel.
To be an innocent child, away from the cold vein of philosophy,
And despair,
And sadness,
And loneliness,
And darkness,
Is a fool's gain.
A lost childIn the lone shadows stood a boy gripping to the 
Pole of the lantern. White sorrow lazily fills to the round,,
providing an onus to the past staring back at him. And
so, with each new memory, the light within the lantern
flickers, becoming more and more dim as the child fades 
to the background.
One of these memories transforms
softly into the form of a shelter deep within the wood of
evergreen and oak. Candles burn from within, though the warmth was
surprisingly cool. Perhaps the dark forbids trespassers 
from composing themselves into the chikd's domain.
But he allows us to stay, to witness 
a lost happiness that was once his.
As we look closer, we see three wee children in the
midst of a playful war,which cinvolved shoving and locking
each other out in the night's atmosphere, threatening to burn
Themselves in front of the other, and the occasional
hard contact between the two. A jubilant air takes the
place of the melancholic appearance of the shelter,

Red Riding Hood's Wolf  Possibly the zenith of the wolf's career would be the terrified expression of her victims before their dying memories come flashing before their eyes, from the zeitgeist times of youth to the nostalgic greetings from the wizened elders. Strange, how the wolf could see through their perspective with the use of their eyes, even though she makes every attempt not to, with her voraciousness calling her out, from the warm crimson flesh to hearing the siren song of the heart. Even the scent of human wafting through the air would provide her senses with delicious temptations and other engaging secrets.

 Yes, that was what the wolf had looked for

The Smile when you tore me apart

Her hand goes over the poison and shields herself into the night.
The same smile is placed on her, laughter giving her away. She takes
her hands and creates a massacre, one only she knows. Corpses will
be her dolls. They rise only for her.


The young boy watches as flames engulf the body. He screams in horror,
desperately trying to save his playmate. She reaches out, but it was
already too late. The last thing he remembers was the tears that fall
from his eyes, and the heart that was broken into two.


His lover falls to the ground, blood splattering on her clothes.
Barely alive, she collapses onto his own arms. They grab her by the
throat. The others held him down, and he watched as she be publicly
executed by the classmates she laughed with. His cries couldn't reach
her. They were too quiet.


His hand goes over hers, begging her to stay alive. She smiles, the
same one she uses to tear him apart over and over again. Death seperates
them forever. But it doesn't matter.

She's already died three times

I got the idea long ago after listening to Within Temptation's song, "Angels." There are three times the girl dies, like the three choruses that say "The smile when you tore me apart." One of my favorite songs, love it, love it, love it. <3
This is another segment to the "Tear the World Down" flash stories, so I hope you like it.
